This film, made by an American TV personality, explores how birth has become a medicalised event, far removed from nature. Using a series of interviews of parents, interspersed with commentary from well respected experts such as Michel Odent, Marsden Wagner, Robbie Davis-Floyd and Ina May Gaskin, the deficiencies in hospital birth and the lack of support for home birth is discussed. Ricki's two births are discussed and we see film of her home birth. Abby's pregnancy and birth, which occurred during the making of the film, are also explored.
