A new DVD that explains the importance of enabling the newborn baby to find its own way to the breast immediately after birth. In a conversation with a pregnant couple, Australian Lactation Consultant Sue Cox explains the innate mechanisms that the baby uses to locate the nipple and latch on for the first, all important feed. The role of touch, smell, reflexes, visual cues and specific movements initiated by the baby are shown. The role of the mother, midwife and father in this enabling these processes are also discussed.
