Inner Strength

This beautiful film begins with this statement: "More and more often midwives get the question: Why at the beginning of the 21st Century should women go through the ordeal of natural childbirth when modern medicine puts at our disposal resources and technological means to spare them pain?" This question was the point of departure for this film. And what a journey it is! We see three women labouring naturally using all their inner resources to give birth using water, a midwife and their partner. It is raw, moving, joyous and exhilarating; noisy, powerful and uplifting.
