   Australian College of Midwives, Inc
This is the peak proffessional body for midvives in Australia. ACMI provide representation of the profession of midwifery to government, hospitals and other groups.
   American College of Nurse-Midwives
The homepage of ACNM, providing resources for both midwives and expectant mothers.
   Birth Spirit
This is the web site of Birthspirit Books Ltd. This is also a good source of articles relating to midwifery.
   Birthwise
These pages are a resource and information guide for practicing and aspiring midwives, mothers to be and anyone interested in midwifery, birth, pregnancy, breastfeeding and parenting. This site will provide the user with an excellent start to maternity links and information.
   CAPPA - Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association
CAPPA was formed out of the need to increase professionalism and accountability within the childbirth education, labor doula and postpartum doula professions. It provides a high level of professional membership and training to childbirth educators, labor doulas and postpartum doulas.
   Community Midwifery Program
A government funded service providing a midwife managed homebirth service, prenatal education, and pregnancy and childbirth information and resource centres.
   International Midwife Teachers Group
The IMTG is an educational network which aims to enhance midwifery practice through educational initiatives, in order to improve the outcomes of childbirth and the lives of women and children throughout the world.
   MANA
The Midwives Alliance of North America; an organisation of midwives and their advocates, whose aim is promote midwifery as a quality health care option. Contains details of midwifery-related activities as well as how to join MANA. This site is still growing, so be sure to visit more than once.
   Maternity Coalition
Maternity Coalition is a non-profit, non-political and non-sectarian consumer advocacy organisation for effective lobbying, information sharing, networking and support in maternity services in Australia.

   MIDIRS
Website of the Midwives Information and Resource Service, an education resource dedicated to helping midwives provide the best maternity care. Catch up on the latest news, check out the events diary or subscribe to MIDIRS Midwifery Digest. The 'New Member' service allows subscribers to perform literature searches of a database of over 80,000 references online.
   Midwifery Today
Created by the publishers of the Midwifery Today magazine, this site contains extensive information from past issues, as well as details about coming conferences. It does, of course, provide information about the magazine, as well as their other newsletters and publications.

Contains various issues related to Midwifery throughout the world, including legal issues, helping people with problems and becoming a midwife.
   New Zealand College of Midwives
is the professional organisation and recognised 'voice' for midwives in New Zealand. NZCOM represents over 2000 members and works in partnership with maternity consumer groups and individual women to ensure high quality maternity and midwifery services in New Zealand.
   Nursing and Midwifery Council (UK)
The Nursing and Midwifery Council is an organisation set up by Parliament to ensure nurses, midwives and health visitors provide high standards of care to their patients and clients.
   Royal College of Midwives (UK)
The RCM is the only professional organisation and trade union run by midwives for midwives
   The Sure Start Volunteer Doula Project
Newland & Avenues Sure Start has developed a pioneering project to recruit, train and match up volunteer Doulas with pregnant women who need support at what can be a lonely and difficult time.
