A busy week....

It has been a busy week - my two neighbours have given birth (one boy, one girl) and both are doing well. One described her birth as “orgasmic “ and the other handled a 40 hour saga with great aplomb. Both were very impressed by the care they received at my local hospital, the Royal Prince Alfred Women’s and Babies Unit.

I have also presented a workshop in Adelaide (Active Birth) and interviewed for someone to take over the manufacture of pelves for Birth International. Making these popular models getting beyond me right now - I am so often out of town and the demand is so high that I just can’t keep up without help especially if I want to have the occasional day off work!

Tomorrow I travel to Alice Springs for another workshop - “Dynamic Prenatal Education” this time. The last time I was in Alice, I was with my good friends Lynne Staff, Nicky Leap and Pay Brodie (all presenters on one of our midwifery skills tours) and the highlight was the dawn hot air ballooning trip over the peaceful countryside. This might be an experience worth repeating - I will have to see if these tours are available at this time of year.

The workshop should be fun too - I wil let you know how it goes.
