Bachelor of Midwifery CoursesMany of you who have read my Diary entry on the development of the Bachelor of Midwifery program at the University of Technology, Sydney, have asked me where information about the direct entry Courses that are already available can be found. Bachelor of Midwifery Courses can be found at: Flinders University (Adelaide, South Australia) Victoria University (Melbourne) Monash University (Melbourne) The Australian Catholic University (Melbourne). This web site is currently unavailable. The ACU Course was recently voted by students across all their campuses as the most popular on offer. All of these Courses are excellent and attract large waiting lists. It is hoped that the Course at UTS in Sydney will be available in 2004, along with another at Southern Cross University (regional NSW). I will post more details as they come to hand. Posted by andrea at May 12, 2003 09:04 AM Hi Andrea, Don't forget to include University of Sth Australia in your Bachelor of Midwifery course list! Cheers,

Kind regards Posted by: Jessica Potsch on February 9, 2004 03:08 AM Hi, I have searched extensively into undergraduate courses for Midwifery. It seems that the only courses that offer this are ones where you have to study nursing first. Posted by: Courtnie on May 27, 2004 06:23 PM I am finding it extremely frustrating that Uni's offer only very few positions into their Midwifery course. I am not prepared to spend three years studying a degree I don't want to work in. If you have any information on interstate uni's offering this course I would be so happy to hear from you (i am in SOuth AUstralia). Thanks! Posted by: Sara McDowell on June 9, 2004 03:56 PM I would also like to know if over seas courses will allow me to practice as a midwife here. (I know that america offers midwifery apprenticships)Thanks! I too thought - I've finally found the career Ive always wanted and can escape the corporate world once and for all! Unfortunately I find it impossible to undertake a full time nursing course in order to study midwifery. Is their any direst midwifery courses available in Qld? Posted by: Kim B on July 17, 2004 12:30 PM I am almost finished 3rd year of a Bach. of Science and would love to do post graduate studies in midwifery but can't find any courses less than the normal 3 year course.
