Dealing with bullying

Just a quick note to say that Diary entries may be in short supply over the next week or so as I trek around Australia with the Future Birth tour. Six cities in 8 days!

I notice that the issue of bullying has been hotly discussed on the ozmidwifery list - this is an issue that is relevant to midwives and nurses and is, I believe, a major factor in the inability of some hospitals to retain staff. If you haven’t read it already, please read Caroline Hastie’s excellent article on this important issue. Strategies for team building and dealing with bullying in the workplace will also be a major focus of the Managing Midwifery workshop we will be presenting in Sydney in 3 weeks. I am looking forward to that one...!
